American English dove is a proper past tense but dived is acceptable (its more common in some areas than others.. I am from NYC and dove is more commonly used than dived), British English the proper past tense is dived.bookboarder:Ok, so I've been wondering this for a little while now... When speaking in past tense about a dive, is it correct to say 'dived'? I've noticed that most experienced divers say they 'dived' a site versus, when I was talking about my last dives, I said I 'dove' the dives.
I hope this makes some sense, and that this is not a completely stupid question, but it's been on my mind for a little while now.![]()
