I'm currently working on the book for my SSI Open Water classes. They told me to get it done at home so thats what I'm doing. I had a question about some dive table exercises. I just need some people that are familiar with dive tables to check my work.

1. a.)Suppose you make a dive to 51 feet (15.5 metres) for 31 minutes. What is your group designation?
My answer: G
b.) After a surface interval of one hour, what is your new group deisgnation?
My answer: F
2. a.)Using your nrw group designation from question 1, suppose you want to make a second dive to a dept of 40 feet (12 metres). What is your adjusted no-decompression time limit?
My answer: 69 minutes
b.)What is your residual time (RT)?
My answer: 61 minutes

Thank You,
Brandon

Did your instructor teach you how to use the dive table? self study is good start but dive table is complex need instructor brief by each terms and standard rules.

I haven't started my class yet. I was just trying to figure out whether I'm using the tables right or not. I start my open water class on march 3rd.

yup... you are correct

you correctly adjusted upwards when faced with an in-between depth/time

Learning the tables before class is a good idea. It's easy and doesn't require an instructor. Here's some good down-loadable software to teach you, test you and check your work. It's got all the tables, including SSI. And it's free!

I believe Larry at Scuba Toys wrote that.
