A rebreather deisgned with the WOB in mind using 4-8 mesh will breathe a bit worse using 6-12 mesh (for exampes drager's), but rebreathers designed with 8-12 in mind breath the same or slightly better...

The time duration between grace's 6-12 and other 8-12 like sofnalime are very close, I have been told that duration testing that was done on a certain rebreather with -812 sofnilime was just marginally longer than the 612 grace product.

Grace also makes a 4-8 mesh...

hi mike, i have discussed this with gordon smith. if you are using a KISS CCR, the 4-8 and the 8-12 mesh seem to give the same scrubbing times in the kiss classic and therefore there is no reason to use the 8-12, as all it will do is cost more and increase breathing resistance.
