hi hi,

i got my OW cert. 3 months ago in PG, philippines. i am now planning to have a diving trip again. do you have any suggestions for a diver with limited experiences like me?

my buddy (also a new diver), had his second dive trip in similan, thailand last week. he shared that he only took 8 dives out of 11 dives since he cannot get used to dive in a place with current frequently. he even got nose and ear bleeding after diving. is similan really not sutable for new diver?

Cozumel rocks the Casbah, as does Belize.

If you've got the dough, I'd suggest South Africa. It has some of the most incredible diving in the world near Durban. Protea Banks and the Aliwal shoal are fantastic (although one of them is not really suitable for beginning divers... don't remember which). The only downside to these areas is b/c they are so popular they are at risk for being overdived.

I've also heard that the red sea is a dream dive. But again... money.

For those of us who have no money b/c it all went to some Aqualung regulators and a Suunto cobra, we're content to dive in Lake Anywhere.

the Maldives are relatively close to you, and have awesome diving.
some of the liveaboard options are quite reasonable.

Hi

Look at Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras. You can get a 10 pack of dives for $125, cheapest place in the world to dive and this price includes equipment. The diving on Utila is wonderful and easily accommodates the new diver; most of the people who come to Utila have never dived before. With over 70 bouyed sites around the island there is lots of choice of dive sites. Deep Blue Divers has a great reputation, they are a 5 star PADI IDC centre and all of their dives are led by instructors with maximum group size of 4 for courses and 6 for fun dives. Accommodation is cheap at $5-$6 per room per night and two beds in rooms.
