I've got some friends around Petaluma/Santa Rosa area. Usually they come down to Monterey to dive, but I was thinking I could head north one of these days. Are there any good but easyish sites up there? We're Breakwater level divers.

Good? Yes!

Easy? Sometimes. (Depends upon conditions.)

You and your friends should check out and join our dive club, North Coast Divers. The North Coast Divers

We organize at least a dive a month and our website is a great way to organize north coast dives. No dues. No meetings. Just diving. (And posting about diving.)

In addition to Fisheater's good advice, the local shops, Bamboo Reef and Pinnacles organize periodic fun dives on the North Coast, and there is usually a high ratio of experienced local divers to newcomers at these events.
