We would love to inform you of an industry issue that's affecting dive shops all around the world.

Undersea Breathing Systems, based out of Lake Worth, Florida. This operation is run by Bill Delp. This company supplies DNAx nitrox membranes, www.dnax.com, is there website.

They go from shop to shop promising that they will install this amazing system, and offers a great discount if you pay up front. We were one of those people that fell into his cluthches, we gave Mr. Delp $21,000, and it's been close to a year now and he has never delivered the system he had promised.

We have spoken to many people from all over the world who are in this same situation. He gets the money up front and doesn't deliver the equipment. He has a laundry list of stores that have sued him, and it's us the retail stores that end up losing, attorney's fees are astronomical. Stores like myself can't afford to pay these fees, it winds up costing us more then the equipment. I think that's the plan, he knows that little shops like ourselves can't afford the fees and we have no choice but to just go away.

Here's how the process works:

1. Gets retailers money;
2. Makes promise after promise that he will deliver it;
3. The excuses then start and never end;
3. Doesn't return phone calls, letters or e-mail;
4. Get attorney to write him a letter and call him - gives attorney more empty promises;
5. Attorney sues him - he hires attorney, then fires him, and delays the process;
6. He then delays the legal system with more excuses and lies.

People who are overseas really get it bad, they don't know who to contact, Mr. Delp avoids all phones calls, e-mails, letters, etc.

This business has to be stopped, the dive industry is being deeply affected by this. There are people coming out of the wood works and are contacting us. Like us they are trying to figure out what to do, where to go??

I hope that someone out there is listening, it's really awful what this guy is doing to dive shops!!!

but why would you pay up front? thats a big no no in my book.

I HATE people like that. Unfortunately there will always be people like that through out the world. I feel your pain.

Actually, those kinds of people ruin the diving world including LDS.

Hey there Aqua Logic,

how about posting your name and the name of your shop? UBS (Undersea Breathing Systems) has been around a long time and I find it hard to believe they scammed "so many" and it hasn't come up before. I know numerous shops that use the DNAx system and are happy with it.
Boca Raton is 20-25 minutes from Lake Worth. Have you just gone over there?

I smell a rat......... You're naming names and don't give your own.

StSomewhere:
Deepstops, Aqua Logic is a dive shop in Boca Raton. They are a member of the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce.

Aqua Logic, if this is an ongoing scam, contact the Florida Attorney General's office.
We have, I can't do this by myself, they need more then one person to open up a case.

Sorry, I thought it was posted - We have a new shop in Boca Raton (Aqua Logic), Florida - His scams have been going on for the past 3 years. I'm sure most of the shops who have his system bought them a long time ago, before he started pulling this stuff. We know of 7 shops that have filed law suits against him, including us. He is quite the con artist!!

:eyebrow: Perhaps you should try hiring a couple of unemployed hockey players from the Panthers or Lightning to try and take care of this guy. ROFL The last NHL player that tried to pull off a hit is now making a bunch of license plates in one of your state pens
