I've emailed the diveshop but haven't given a response. Has anyone used this dive shop recently? I'm the only diver in our group so I'm looking for easy diving.

I believe that shop is Underwater Technical World. I dive with their shop in the Grand Pallidium resort and find them very good.

Yes, that is the dive shop I emailed. I'm not sure why they haven't emailed back. I guess I'll try calling them.

One of their instructors from the Grand Pallidium now works in the Viva. She is very good and a Facebook friend. You will be in good hands.
I arrive at the Grand Pallidium on February 22. Really looking forward to it.

They also operate under another name. Try

I'm back from my trip. If you're going to dive, I suggest you stay at the Maya. If you stay at the Azteca, it is a 10 min walk down the beach to the Azteca where you get on the boat. If you have gear, this can be a long walk. Also, there is no dock. You have to swim to the boat. If the water is rough, the swim is longer. For some reason the DMs instruct you to carry your fins. Last time I checked, swimming is easier with fins on. I broke the rule. DMs were friendly, attentive, gave good briefings and did a good job dealing with the many inexperienced divers. I do not envy their job when that many newbies are on a dive. I overheard one of the DMs describe me as "very experienced". After diving with people with thousands of dive, I wouldn't use that to describe myself but it's all relative I guess. Overall, I was satisfied with the dive shop.

I am happy you had a good time. I got back a week ago and had a good time at the Palladium.

Sorry I'm a little confused, does the op pick up at the azteca or the maya? Also we will be staying at the azteca later this year. Do you have any tips or recommendations about the hotel.
