Anyone interested in diving at Nubble Light, weather permitting, this Saturday?

Sorry I was not there to join you. I really miss Nubble.

Got my first dive of 2007 in today. Dive site was a 3 minute drive from our house in our local lake, the Zugersee. Dive site is a sheer wall that runs right from shore down to about 50 meters/165 feet. We maxed out at about 90 feet/27+ meters. Water temp was 40F/4+ Celcius. Total dive time was about 40 minutes. Vis was not bad at about 15 feet. Nothing particularly noteworthy was seen, but a nice, relaxing dive (cold hands, though - wet gloves). Enjoyed meeting a new Swiss friend (Christoph) who was my dive buddy.

I am in the process of having my tanks inspected based on Swiss standards, and am having the valves replaced with H-valves, since that seems to be the standard config. everyone here uses.

Chris

GM,

Anyone take you up on the dive? I would be interested in hearing the details. How were conditions?

No one contacted me. I drove up there at about 7:30 just to see what the surface was like. The wind was coming from the west so it was fairly calm but it was coming hard and the wind chill would have made it rather unpleasant. I took The Ghillie for a walk and this was his response when we got home ...

Well, I could be wrong but it looks like the Ghillie is agreeing with your decision to pass on that dive.

Of course, the Ghillie looks smarter than your average dawg so the agreeing with you could just be a smart dawg going along with "master" so that "master" feels like he is in charge when Ghillie knows the truth.....Ghillie knows that no matter what, Ghillie isn't going to strap 100 lbs or so of equipment on and then jump into the chilly Atlantic where he could become sharkbait or lostah food or at the least get his butt froze half off after crawling out on the rocks while being battered by waves.

Gotta love dawgs, they love us pretty much no matter what we crazy people do.
