Just 5 hours south of Nogales, Arizona is San Carlos. It's a great spot for diving and has a very active community. There are a lot of dive shops to choose from and many excelent dive sites to explore. There is an international airport just 20 minutes from the dock and that includes parking. You will have the Sea of Cortez at your feet with hundreds of fish species for you to discover. San Pedro Island is a one hour boat ride away, where you are guaranteed to be greeted by a sea lion colony. San Carlos maintains a very active forum for the hotels, diving, sailing and everything else. During the last tropical storm the forum served many people who needed information about their house or boat. Now the community is rebuilding. The storm created a large amount of damage, but crews are working day and night, and they have made great progress. Just google San Carlos Mexico and the travel guide will help you. For divers, I maintain a little website with current dive conditions, photos and video at Dive San Carlos - Home.
I hope to see you soon, Johan Broere.
