I'm once again thinking about a backplate/wing system (single tank). Scuba Toys has a closeout on the Dive Rute Venture wing for $159.00. It sounds like a great deal but the wing sure looks different from the DSS/Oxycheq/Hog wings. Anyone have any experience with the Venture wing and how it compares to DSS/Oxycheq/Hog? Thanks.

I have Venture wing on both my Dive Rite Transpac (soft backplate) and TransPlate/SS hard plate. I think that they're great for single tank diving. A bit more lift that I need, but just enough extra so that I can float a dive buddy if I need to.

I have one and it's fine, except that it looks like some grannies underpants next to my Oxycheq Mach V.

I use the Venture wing for single tank diving. I have the older model that I believe had around 30 lbs of lift. I use a SS plate and steel cylinder, and this appears to be a bit of overkill but it works till I can afford another wing. BTW, the deal at $159.00 is great and you should jump on it before they sell out. YMMV

I had an older version Venture, which had a different shape than the current version. Overall I liked it ... trimmed comfortably, dumped easily. The only drawback was it seemed to take on a lot of water inside the wing during the dive. Not sure if the new shape corrected this problem ...
