I don't know. Dive Rite has become secretive with not releasing the repair manual on the XT.

I have quite a few older Scubapro regulators but Scubapro is becoming like Aqualung with all these different models trying to hit different price points. A few years back they had 3 first stages MK-2, MK-16, MK-25 and four second stages the R-190, S-550, G-250, and S-600. Now they have all these different first stages and second stages.

Agreed! They are offering many choices at various price points.

I believe it is consumer driven. The MK11 & MK21 have been provided as a light weight alternative to the MK17 & Mk25 for the traveling diver. Those are the only two " New " 1st stages.

As far as 2nd stages, the A700 is filling the demand for a " Full Metal Housing ". Otherwise, the R195 replaced the R190, the S360 replaced the S550 & the G260 replaced the G250. The S560 is a S600 with a light weight techno-polymer barrel; again filling the need for the traveling diver.

Call Cave Adventurers or Air Hogs Scuba before you go to DGX.

AMS, Dive Rite has stopped releasing the repair manuals because idiots were trying to service it, botched something internally, and tried to send it in on warranty repair. They have said they will continue providing the parts kits though. Service manuals can be found for similar regulators out there, Apeks DST, Hog D1/D3, the old RG3100, etc that are applicable. Hog didn't have a repair manual until recently, so we just used the Apeks manual since it was close enough.

I don't believe the traveling diver rationale for a minute, we are only talking about a few ounces at most for a metal air barrel and seal.

I would also think most divers would want the metal barrel of the S600. If Scubapro was customer driven they would have sold the MK-19 in the US. It seems the divers in the US want a sealed diaphragm first stage with a turret.

Besides being confusing for the diver it must be a PITA for you to have to stock all those different models.

Then why am I loosing MK25 sales to the less expensive MK21 and S600 sales to the less expensive S560. I do feel that the new lighter weight regs. fill a need.

The R295 has been replaced by the R095 ( only available in rental ) & the R095 OCT. The R395 has been replaced with the R195. The metal barrel for the S600 is important in cold water; most traveling divers go to warm water. I believe the MK18 that was tested in the U.S. market had the turret, but the consumer did not buy it. If a unit does not sell, they drop it.

Yes, you are correct. However, we have to meet the needs of our customers. By meeting the needs of our clients, we hope to make a profit!

What i have noticed from shopping around and witness few of my close friends buying gears thru different vendors non of which is listed in this OP is that company's keep changing every 2-3 years and discontinue service /Parts and warranty on 3 years old product that they charge well close to $600 + . I am not saying that is the case for Scubapro , Dive rite or so many others out there . I am sure they all have to do something to stay in business but Scubapro left me with the impression that i will have to budget for more than i have to get the same caliper that is offered buy others

Correct! Scubapro does not have planned obsolescence. In fact, they design their new models so that they accept many of same parts as the older ones.
