A few 100ft(?) dive rite jump reels that the previous owner cut the handles off off.
It doesn't make them any easier to use

Were the handles cut off or were they just removed? My understanding is the handle on the Dive Rite reels is bolted on to the metal frame:

You definitely haven't tried taking them apart then, lol.

They are spot welded together.

Old ones were welded, I have a blue one like that, it only has one screw at the joint for the bolt attachment. Newer ones are two separate pieces with two screws at the joint and multiple holes in the handle to change position up/down or even move the handle to the side like I did with a red one I used to have.
