I have been diving a DR TransPac with a Voyager wing for 15 years. Can you believe I'm on the same air cell? I can't. But anyway ...

I'm in the market for a new BCD. I'm interested in the Hyrdo Lite because I'd like to save on weight and the 30 lbs of lift is enough.

Do the 12 lb weight pockets truly hold 12 lbs? Can you get two 3-lb weights in them?

Can you swap the weight pockets for the bigger ones if needed?

Thanks!

I haven't ever tried, but I think two 3s would fit easily. I run a 5 pounder in each side and it isn't a tight fit.

Lamar told me that the weight limits are based on using soft weights, so you can fit more using hard weights.

Thanks guys. I'm always cold so I wear a lot of exposure protection and need options for more weight.

I have the 20 lb pockets for my Transpac so I can just switch those on to the Hydro Lite if the pockets aren't permanent.
