I own an old hockey puck Nitek Duo that has been going strong for years. It has 3 conservative settings and even set to 0 it's very conservative.

I use a Cochran EMC-20H, it allows the user to set full control conservatism or lack there of. I can very closely approximate my planned deco with my computer. It makes a great back up to your written plan and it does multiple gas switches on the fly.

Bottom line is a written plan is mandatory and much cheaper than an optional mix computer but they sure are convenient. The best part is the data collected and logged for later analysis .

Faced the same decisions earlier this year. Spent hours researching, comparing/contrasting all the computers. I upgraded my kit and went for a new slate (pencil attached) and a Petrel. This combo has worked REALLY well for me.
