I recently bought a couple of Dive Rite clipper pockets, which can be used either for trim weights (max 5 lb per pocket) or as utility pockets. In order to mount them with the flap up (which I would like to do), you have to use plastic clips that are delivered with the pockets. The problem is that these are made to close tightly on single thickness 5" webbing, and will not fit on double thickness webbing, which is unfortunately present at the spots where I want to mount them. I tried quite hard to close them, but no cigar.
I was wondering if someone on SB had found a simple solution for mounting clipper pockets on double thickness webbing. I would like the setup to be solid enough to hold 4 lb weights and to resist the "normal" abuse a BC gets when handled regularly.
Thanks already for suggestions or experiences.
