we did 3 dives today in cape ann (folly cove, old garden beach, back beach) all 3 of which were amazing. well go in order

folly cove: dove left side of cove crossed and came back in on the right side. max depth of 55 feet vis was a constant 25-30 feet. temps on the bottom were low 50's on the surface low 60's. we saw atleast 2 dozen skate some near 2 ft wide (3 different kinds i think) plenty of flounder. and a diver in another group saw a wolf eel in 20 ft! out in the open too!! saw a large fish that blended right into the rock. dont remember its name though (i think is was chuck?) cant wait to go back

old garden: followed left side of wall and just turned back to kick in. about the same vis/temp for folly. alot more lobster and crab this dive. one lobster had to be 5 lbs and had claws bigger than my hand. also saw some stripers cruising around the rocks. alot more rocks on this dive had some trouble with buoyancy this dive. alot of interesting macro life (brightly colored starfish)

back beach: back kicked out and dove left side to small island. again, vis/temp about the same. alot of fish on this dive. stripers, small rock fish and a few HUGE fish that resembled parrot fish. (i need to get a template or slate with these fish..) alot of big crevasses near the small island we dove too, filled with large crabs and fish. saw the largest flounder on this dive too (probably close to 1.5 ft long) MUCH less crowded than front beach...

i can safely say i will be back to cape ann this summer and most likely again in the fall. a fantastic place to dive and cape ann divers is a more than helpful shop.

We also dove Back Beach today. 55 degreeccs at 25 feet. 30 feet of visability. Also couldn't believe how manybroken up lobster pots. Great easy going dive.
