I was planning to go diving with Ed today but unfortunately he called and cancelled this morning due to a sore back. Yesterday I had also left a message with my buddy Matt to see if he wanted to go but I never heard back from him. Without a dive buddy it seemed I was doomed to a day on land.
But when all hope seemed lost, I got a call from Matt who it turned out had only just checked his messages and was free to dive! 2 hours later we were at Bull Point gearing up! Day saved!
There was a phytoplankton bloom going on so the visibility wasn't good, generally about 5 ft nearer to the surface and closer to about 10 ft as we got into the deeper darker waters where the phytoplankton don't grow so well. We had a max depth of 70 ft. The water was 41 degrees F. Aside from a few little cunner hiding out under the rocks there weren't any fish to speak of, however, there were some nice anemones on the wall, and a few crabs and lobsters.
Not the most exciting dive, but it did keep me from drying out!
