Hi everyone,
My buddy and decided to use the president's day holiday to get some dives in. As you recall, the air temp. was very warm (58deg), so even though it was raining, we decided to head out. We dove in the late morning and chose folly because it was flat calm. The rain let up as we were gearing up, so that was a plus. The tide was falling, so getting around the rocks with my DS, steel 100 and 30lbs of weight was tricky. Upon entering the water both my buddy and I had leaks in our drygloves (si-tech ring style). Once we got that squared away, we were rewarded with a nice dive. The water temp was 38deg at 25fsw. Vis was very good at about 20 feet. During our 40 minute dive we saw the typical things: nudi's, starfish, and a vast field of sand dollars covering the bottom. Getting out was tricky as well, and at that point I decided I wasn't going to walk though the rocks again, so off to old garden we went. The conditons there were different: 2-3ft waves, 8ft viz and a strong surge. Again we had issues with leaky dry gloves, but got them resolved. This dive wasn't fun, but we got more experience with our new drysuites (pinnacle freedom) which are working very well. My next dive? Divequest at EPCOT next week! 78degrees in a tropical environment! I can't wait!
