Headed out from Salem with NADE aboard the Guantlet to a wreck they call the Talisman. The weather took a turn for the better Saturday AM and allowed us to get off shore with calm seas and temps in the 40's. We had 40+ feet of vis on the line with about 20 on the wreck at 160fsw. Check NADE's website for the particulars about this wreck as they are still actively surveying it to confirm its identity. All that I can tell you is that we were tied in just aft of amidships to a large winch. I saw assorted pieces of machinery lying within a collapsing wooden hull. Most of my dive was spent around the stern half of the vessel. With the good vis, friendly hospitality, and great weather, it was certainly winter diving at its best.

Be safe and have fun,

Dennis

We hit the Reliance on Sunday and had the same conditions plus flat...I mean completely flat....seas.

I'd like to see the Talisman with some vis. Last time I was on her, we were looking at 5-8 ft max.
