Agree with the above but will note that it gets a tad more complicated some times in general interactions. I tend to be a social type most times so if I see somebody by themselves at a meeting or on a boat etc I will often say something to them and note how they are interacting. It seems to me that often women are more comfortable talking to women and men talking to men. Not always of course but often. Maybe it is due to battle scars but it is there. Striking up a conversation with the opposite sex can get you a "get lost" look or a "yes, a friendly face in the crowd" look. You never know.

We are finishing up our Florida Keys and Palm Beach diving trip. Didn't dive Boynton because no Dive Ops in the area were able to provide wreck dives the day we were in the area including the one we signed up with originally due to lack of diver interest.

There are some good guys out there including Brenda at Conch Republic Divers. Well she's not a "guy" but she's "good", great actually- we had booked dives for 4 divers but my brother wasn't feeling so great after the morning dive and decided to skip the afternoon dive without any prior notice, and my girlfriend decided to skip the following morning dive due to a flare up of a previous neck/back injury. In NEITHER case did Brenda charge us for the cancelled dives even though we gave virtually no prior notice.

On a later dive with Conch Republic divers, there were only 2 of us and Brenda couldn't run the boat with 2 of us so we happily agreed to pay for 2 ghost divers and had a wonderful dive on the Spiegel Grove and Benwood wrecks in Key Largo.

Dustin at Florida Scuba Charters in West Palm has an interesting style. I booked last minute with him and he had a boat full of reef divers, but was able to accommodate my request for all wrecks by dropping me off in a separate place than the reef divers, and we all dived at the same time at different sites and he picked us all up at the end. Now THAT'S the way to do it.
