We used Goodtime Adventures. They have speed boats vs fishing boats converted to dive boats. Obviously quicker and more flexible choice of locations. They also have rooms to rent above the dive shop.

Already several responded KT is not best dive site in Thailand. KT cater to schools - mainly from OW to IDC; for good reason as dive sites are suitable for learning (close, sheltered, school can run 3 x 2 tanks trips a day). Only 3 adv sites - Chumphon Pinnacle, SW Pinnacle & Sail Rock (OK, that's not really an advanced site, but best in KT). If you must go KT, and looking for more adv site, ask around for shop that goes to SW Pinn & Sail Rock as these 2 sites are far and most school do not go there on their fun dives.
Sail Rock is actually a novice site, but since it is far (half way between KT and K Samui), shops run them as special $$ day trip and usually no student . For SW Pinn, a couple schools claim they go to SW for their AOW classes. Chumphon is closest and usually used for AOW class as average depth is around 25 meters.
Most hotel/resort along East side (between pier & Sairee beach) are within 10-15 walk to dive shops on same side (where most shops are located, Master, Sariee cottage, Bans etc). If you stay on S or SE side (Chalok, Ao Leuk etc. - not crowded, spectacular view of sunrise...) you are 45 mins walk away; look for a dive shop near by.
I don't know of any shop that does resort pick up, sorry.

An old thread, but the information still might be useful if people find it.

New Wave Diving on Koh Tao are one of the few outfits that actually cater towards experienced divers rather than focusing on teaching diving.

As a result they operate 2 different boats with up to 6 departures every day, and 2 dives performed per trip. This includes Sail Rock almost daily, Smaran Pinnacle (not often dived) and many other specials such as Sunset & Night Dive at Chumphon Pinnacle.

    Highly recommended.

I believe that it was New Wave that I dove with almost 20 years ago. I can't remember the name of the New Zealander fellow running/owner? the place but he was very good to work with and Jenny was my DM.

I strongly recommend Hydronauts! Very good crew and Erik is a tech instructor Intrainer CCR instructor and cave diver (one of the member of the Thai cave rescue). If anyone goes, tell Erik Turk says hello.

Looking at your signature, shouldn't that be 'we are one ...' and 'we' in stead of 'they'?
And highly recommended by the guy running it?

Promotion is accepted here, but being honest is appreciated.
