My wife and I are planning a trip to St. Thomas in November 2005. We considering staying at the Ritz (Patagon Dive Center) or the Marriott (Underwater Safaris). Does anyone have experience with either of these dive operators?

Patagon seems like a small operation while Underwater Safaris seems somewhat larger.

Thanks
Dan

Dove with Underwater safaris from their dive shop in Charlotte Amalie.( I was on a cruise ship). They're a pretty good company. If I was staying up by the Ritz I would probably dive with Chris Sawyer. Dove with him while i was on the island in November. No compliants here...great staff, nice boat, awesome dives. Don't miss the night dives!

Check out Chris Sawyer's operation. They are also just a 5 minute equipment drag from Coki beach....a shore dive.

Another vote for Chris Sawyer. Great op.

Another vote for Chris Sawyer. Safari's mainly caters to the cruise ship crowd, they also run divers out of the Marriott and moor their boats there. Boats tend to be very full, some folks might call them cattle boats

Patagon is smaller, you're right and just goes out of the Ritz.

Chris Sawyer is in the East end about a 5-10 minute drive from the Ritz in Red Hook at American Yacht harbor. check out http://www.sawyerdive.vi
