Will be staying down at Tankah Bay for 2 weeks beginning November 3rd. Two of us are newly certified divers and want to get some time in. We are looking for recommendations for dive operations in the Tankah Bay/Soliman Bay area.

I had initially been talking to a gentleman named Chris Stanton at Lucky Fish Dive Center, but he has closed shop. It is now being run by Maya Diving.

We are between Tulum and Akumal. Not far to PDC either. Definately would like to ferry to Cozumel for adventures there.

Just looking for recommendations from good past experinces and perhaps who to avoid as well.

Thanks to all

We've dove with Mayan Divers while staying at Dreams and Freedom Paradise. Great group of people. We were going to dive with Lucky Fish, but they didn't take CC, and didn't want to go out with only 2 divers.

The Tan-kah Inn has a dive shop. It is located on Tan-kah Bay. Here is link. Tankah Inn tankah.com Tankah Bay on the Riviera Maya Yucatan Cancun South Akumal Tulum Area

From my understanding, Dean did a number on Manatee cenote, still clogged with debris.

Update on Tankah:
If I had my choice, I would make the drive to Akumal and dive with the Akumal Dive Center.
Lucky Fish was at Tankah Inn and is gone for sure. There is definitely no dive shop now in Tankah, I drove along there a few months ago when I was in the area.
Dean did a number on Manatee, I saw it then and it was horrible and a shame to see but it is really cleaned up and is better than ever now. Amazing really how well it recovered. I heard that some people got together from local dive shops and went in and cleared out all the debris. Cudos for that.
Maya Diving is the closest shop to Tankah and Soliman now that Chris is gone and they do a good job.
There are also a bunch of other shops in Tulum now to choose from, some good, some not so good.
