No dive op on any Cruise Ship destination island will treat any first time visitor different than any other.
You present yourself to any dive operation and they will immediately begin to estimate the level of danger that you might potentially cause yourself and others.
They look at your log book, your c-cards, your gear.... then they treat you just like everybody else that walks in the door.
But, it's all about money. The highly vaunted "Mary's Place" dive site (not far from Mahogany Bay) with deep (85'+) profiles and minor overhead environments loads a lot of Nitrogen with it's length. It is never supposed to be offered to first day visitors due to the preservation agreements, but it happens.
Better than average? Everybody has an opinion as to what those dives might be on Roatan, but very few people have ever dived in more than one of the several distinct zones. I find that the South shore (from Mahogany Bay and East about 6 miles) is absolutely unique in the Caribbean. What you will see in this area are vertical walls that start in 5' and drop to 90', positioned in Sunlight almost the entire day. It is a micro-nursery for all of the colorful critters that hide in open sight. For the diver who can hover and brings a magnifying glass- it is pure heaven. You don't have to go deep, just slowly.
Or you can do the Shark Dive.
