Hi there, I am new to this site. I learned about it while diving off of Cancun, Mexico last month. I started diving 40 years ago when I got certified my last year of college in San Luis Obispo, California. I belong to a dive club called the Diablo Seabears dive club, check out our web site at diabloseabearsdiveclub.org....we meet in Benicia, Ca. the first week of the month at a pizza place. We are a family oriented club with about 20 families registered. We do most of our diving out of the Albion River just South of Mendocino, Ca.....We store our trailers at the Albion River Campground and keep our boats on the dock. We are a very active abalone diving club where we free dive for abalone....there are a number of certified divers in the club that like to take under water photos or videos, as well as spear fish. The diving is usually cold and rough, but we are cautious and have fun. Several times during the year the ocean lays down like a lake and we can see 30 ft. under water which is unusual for the North coast so we take advantage of it. We do some lobster diving at the Channel Islands off Southern California and some halibut diving off Monterey, Ca. Check out the web site, come join us at a meeting or better yet join us around the campfire and go diving with us...diver down...be safe......bob:D
