I just finished the Naui Scuba Master Diver class and want to move up to Divemaster. I meet all the requirements to train in a Naui or Padi course. My question is, which one should I choose? I am less worried about cost and want to besure I have training that will better help me as a Divemaster.

Don't worry too much about the agency - worry about the instructor that is teaching the class - Talk with several instructors about the class, expectations, and training and see which one best suits you.

Yup. Its all about the instructor and the shop you'll be working with/for. If you will be working out of a NAUI shop, NAUI DM is probably the way to go. If its a PADI shop, go with the PADI training.

Thanks guys for your input.

I have a slightly different take. Assuming your going to want to actually act as a DM and possibly move on to instructor at some time, agency may well be important. It's a lot easier to stay with one agency than to jump between them. From that perspective, PADI may be a better choice, simply because there are more PADI shops. Nothing against NAUI, just makes life easier, esp if the shop you train with is not going to be the shop you DM for. If you don't intend to act as a DM or instuctor, then best instructor.

Herman- PADI DM
