Dive Locations w/in 1 day drive from Jakarta

I'll be in JKT on business in February and am hoping to get in some diving. My problem is that I will have only a weekend free and need to deal with confines of restriction on flying w/in 24 hours of diving. Recommendations/advice on options would be appreciated.

On the weekend DC in Jakarta typicaly offer one day trip to Pramuka or other island at thousand island or shangyang (anyer - sunda strait) or even Krakatau.
You can also check local diving forum www.forumselam.com you may find somebody arrange divetrip with sharing cost.

+1 for Krakatoa. I greatly enjoyed diving there.

Thousand Islands is probably easiest, quite a few dive shops can arrange, google Kristal Klear Dive, Planet Diving, Bubbles Dive Centres. I am sure they can sort you out

Check out an island called Cubadak off Padang. it's an hour flight to mingkangkabau then a 2 hour pick up and a boat ride, but if you get an early flight you can dive that afternoon/night so if you can get out of Jakarta Friday night you should be able to squeeze in a few dives. It's a private island not marketed as a diving destination but has cool bungalows and some easy diving. A lot of soft corals and sponge gardens and a superb night dive spot.
