I had to drive hundreds of miles to purchase mine. The things are somewhat difficult to buy.
One thing I have been told and partially verified is that a kayak should be purchased in part by the expected weight it will typically carry. Add your weight and your typical load and purchase a kayak that has a useful load/capacity that brackets that weight. If you get a kayak that has a capacity beyond your needs it will not perform correctly, will sit to high, be blown more easily by the wind, bob like a cork and several other things and if you get one with a capacity to small it will sit to low, become unstable, will not ride over waves but instead wallow thought them etc. I am not just talking about length or width but more the capacity of the kayak. I have been told this by people who should know, I feel based on my limited experience that it is true and is a factor to consider in being happy with your purchase. N
