A friend of mine up in Tulsa is looking to get her OW certification. Any experiences (good/bad) with dive shops in town? No particular PADI/SSI/NAUI preferences.

Only two actual dive shops in Tulsa remaining that I know of. Poseidon Adventures on Peoria and Dive Site in their new location on 41st near Memorial. I've had dealings with both shops. I got my OW/AOW with Poseidon and a friend got theirs from Dive Site... I hate to repeat what been said many times before, but it depends on the instructor and the student. Go where you feel the most comfortable and with who fits you best, but definately check out both stores/personnel before making a decision..
