Scoop is as follows:

Barracuda just poured their new dock like 4 or 5 days ago. Not sure if they are going for the 7 day, 14 day, or 28 day concrete strength for curing. Their new ppool and poolside bar has just been tiled. They still need to complete their new bui;dings (resteaurant? y banos?) and their patio, whis is in total construction disarray.

Rooms ar enice...new everything, including matresses, or so I assume.

Had to do a daily 10 to 15 minute walk from baracuda (or taxi if u prefer) to Hotel Cozumel, since hotel cozumel had the only open pier, except for la calleta harbor.

Baracuda's pier and pool should be open by the end of thos month, but most probably by mid to late february.

Reefs are good.

The C53 wreck is off limits for some reason about safety, but it is still good for diving/swimming through, even with it's new crack down it's middle from starboard to port (wink wink). But you all did not hear this from me:D

I dove Devil's throat and cathedral at Punta Sur, yesterday. Apparantly the Hurrican took out half the natural sponge cross in the cathedral.

Lots of octupus, turtles, morrays, spotted eagle rays, spotted eels, nurse sharks, and reef sharks. Saw allot of octupus and morrays during the day on this trip. Did not seee any pointed tip eels during a night dive, but did see some translucent squid on the night dive.

Some a$%holes (total of three) from a competitor dive shop steamrolled over me during a night dive, and then one of them had a massive leak from his tank within a few seconds after doing so. The dumby rushed to the surface instead of to his buddy's or me in 30 to 35 ft of water. Lesson learned = don;t do that. I slowly ascended to give help, but stopped myself at 15 ft. The f$%@er was lucky he did not get bent....actually he is lucky he did not do what he did from a depth of 60 or 90 ft. Second lesson learned = if your buddy does this, let him/her suffer at the surface alone. Do not get yourself bent, too.

Anyway, Cozumel is worth the trip. Scuba Club is fully functional, by the way. It would be a safe and good bet to go to.

Cheers:D
