You're still carrying the brick around, why? Too funny. lol
ND I send my Stinger in every 2 years, they replace the battery and O rings and pressure test the thing, I figure it's cheaper than replacing it when it floods.
Hey Capt., want to buy my Edge? That way you can have one on each side, better trim lol

I have a Beuchat Maestro PRO from circa 1994-95, made by Cochran under OEM, and it works fine, nice large easy to use display, user replaceable battery etc.
Depth display is quite accurate and matches my Vyper and my Citizen watch within 2%.
The rubber strap fell to pieces but I made a new one from a car inner tube.
The only problem is it is more aggressive than more modern models.
But since it has a computer interface (DOS only) with access to various settings it is quite easy to tune the % conservative setting.
At a 20% conservative setting it tracks very closely several more modern models.
I don't see any reason to give up using it especially if the other partner in a buddy team has a newer model.

Speaking of EDGES's, if you want a hoot. The next time you see the Rolex ad with Sylvia Earle in the Deep Rover sub, look on the sub's right manipulator arm. There's a Blue Brick (that I put there as a joke) and three Rolexes.

Forgive my ignorance... but this is the FIRST I have heard of this. Which manufacturer(s) suggests this practice?

Yea, my Genesis React Pro requires annual checks to keep the warranty in effect.

Thanks guys, $285 later at LDS and all checked out when I purchased it. Better safe then sorry. I'mnow questioning the reputation of the LDS. Tried on my bcd in my pool on the 4th and had a small leak around the inflator hose.

I wear it in the center as ballast to keep me on an even keel.

I have an ORCA Pilot and it's nitrox capable. I'm not familiar with the Phoenix but I paid $250 for my Pilot in the late 1990's. You might want to check the date on the battery. I bought mine new and a couple of years later it started acting funny. When we pulled the battery out the expiration date was the year before I bought the thing.
