A friend of mine is looking for a dive computer (preferably air integrated) that can upload the logs to a Mac computer. So far all we're finding are windows compatible computers.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

I upload dives from my Suunto Cobra (air integrated) to a Mac. I use DiveLog dive computer manager software. It's cheap ($29.95) and has a free trial period to see if you like it.

I have found both the computer and the DiveLog software to be great.

I do the same with my Suunto Mosquito using the software DiveLog. Works like a champ. Unfortunately you have to purchase this software for the mac seperately from the Comp. So it adds a little more to the cost of the computer if ya wanna be able to import to a mac.

Whilst mac versions of the software are available, remember that you can run Windows in a virtual machine on the mac and run native windows software there if needed. I use this method am am very happy with this.

Richard

3 Days till I leave to Hurghada ..... :)

I'm glad to see this question asked. I have been searching for two weeks for something that I can hook up both to my friend's PC and my Mac. I also just looked at the Suunto systems and really like what I have seen so far.

Is there anything else that works with Mac?

Hey Emily,

Actually most of the dive computers, even if they say PC only will work on Mac. I have a Mac laptop and my dive computer says it's PC only but when connected to my Mac allows me to pull files off it like an external HDD. You may have to download something to read the files off the internet but it should work.

If you're running leopard on your mac, you can also install a copy of windows that you can run for windows specific software. This keeps all the things you like about your mac for every day use, and gives you an option for other applications.

What kind of files does it store? Are we talking about a tab-delimited txt file, or something more complex?

I was able to open my dive computer's log with Microsoft Word for Mac.
