Would I be better off building my own compressor to be used in a dive shop or buy one? Would like to fill 4 tanks at one time. 220 volt three phase may be a prob.

Most lower voltage units will most likely be as slow a frozen maple syurp and not that suitable for a shop.

Buy one.

Single phase 220 would probably mean quite a bit of bank space and long runtimes.

I would look into getting three phase in the shop or running a diesel compressor.

Buying will cause you far fewer headaches.

My single phase 220 fills 3 empty 80s in 30 min
