Not checked directly no, everything Ive seen online said they were dying but for sure i should message them@GeorgeBa Did you check with the BSAC in Sharjah or Dubai? Are they not in business anymore?
Thats some great info, thanksThe Sharjah Wanderers (BSAC) are still active to some degree. The place where they keep their boat had a massive ditch dug across the access area by Sharjah Municipality for some reason or another and they couldn't get the boat out for about six weeks or something like that.
From what I have heard the Sharjah club occasionally fall foul with the Dubai CG when taking their boat out, demonstrating that British stubbornness v Emirati authority is a great way of not diving.
The Dubai BSAC club is basically a drinking club from what I've been told.
That said, there are a couple of non-BSAC clubs run by two dive shops, namely Chloe Blue Dive Club and Dive Campus, who organise diving usually on the west coast. That works ok I guess for people who are new to the country.
After an incident six years ago, nobody with a private boat is likely to take people diving without running a risk of prison time should the sh!t hit the fan for some reason or another.
