Dive certification places around the DC Metro area?

Hello. I am not even sure if my topic title is correct or not.

I recently went to Cancun and scuba for the first time, and I want to get more into it. The next step I want to take is to do the classes for the Open Water Certification, and my brother and wife want to follow as well.

I am located right outside of DC in Maryland and was wondering if there are any places recommended around this area to do the classes at. I did a google search and some results came up for classes in the area, but I was wondering more about specific places that people would recommend.

I can recommend Splash Dive Center - they have Open Water Classes starting every other week. Call 703-823-7680 for details.

I dive with Brass Anchor Scuba in Frederick Brass Anchor Scuba Center Frederick PADI Courses, and highly recommend them. They have great instructors, small class sizes, and are very friendly and helpful. They have, or can get, just about any type of quality gear you can imagine and have good prices. They also run several dive trips each year and have an active dive club.

The Brass Anchor is great but a closer option might be Atlantic Edge in Gaithersburg. Both great outfits!! I had an opportunity to vacation with the owner of Atlantic Edge and his wife (who's a school teacher) First time they were able to get away together w/o the kids in a while. Needless to say we all stayed up way too late but had a great time. As much as I know John (atlantic edge) is the only PADI Course Director in 50 mi radius, but I may be mistaken.
