Halfway Rock seems really cool....Anyone here dive it?

I did last year. Really nice dive but very cold. Vis was very good depths were 20'-60'+. I'll use my dry suit if I get the chance to dive it again. Lots of life, my buddy got a couple of bugs and we saw a seal pup that was still a whitish color.

salem ma winter island is closer

It's a great dive, one of my favorite. When I dive it I usually swim all the way around spending half my time deep and the other time shallower. Lots of life the upper half and there are some bugs to be found.

while there are bugs to be found - please note that salem sound is a no discharge area meaning boaters need to go out to the 3 mile mark to pump overboard. guess where that is?? Also - I have a friend that does burials at sea - guess where?

that just means extra nutriants, right?

:rofl3:

I knew about the no discharge zone but didn't put one and one together... looks like I'm not taking any bugs from Halfway again...

I wouldn't let it stop you...its a big ocean...
