Dive Buddy NW AR Memorial Week

Hi y'all! I'm planning a trip to NW AR during the Memorial Day week to visit family. I thought it would be great to do some diving while I'm there...somewhere in the Ft. Smith area or a couple of hours from there. My sister is trying to get certified right now, but I'm not sure she will make it by then. Any Arkie buddies out there?

You're going to want something warmer than that 5mm of yours, Beaver will be comfortable above the thermocline but get chilly below it if you linger long.

I typically try to dive Memorial weekend, if I'm down there I'll be glad to dive with you. I'll check my schedule and get back in touch.

Great...and thanks for the tip...I'll add something warmer. I've also heard Quachita is nice and clear. What do you think about that?

I've never dove there, but I have read about it and so I can't say anything first hand. I will say not everything I've read has turned out to be true, i.e. the Oasis thing Dive Training Magazine printed is a complete hoax, even though they seemed to have detailed reports on it. I've gotten a bit jaded due to things like that.

For me, I like to see it firsthand or have a buddy who's dove it.

For what it's worth, the article was pretty good and talked a lot about how nice it was.

I won't get there until probably Sunday, but I'll be there all week after that. I would even consider a short dive after work hours because I know that not everyone is on vacation.
