Hi y'all,
I'll be coming to San Antonio for my son's graduation from basic training at Lackland. Will be arriving around noon on the 29th of september. While fri, sat and sun will be occupied with him I would love to do some local on Thursday after I get checked in. Have talked to Steve at deep blue adventures. He informed me that there is plenty of opportunites as far as water. Just need a buddy. If anyone is interested and will be able to do something that day and evening let me know. If I can't find someone I'll probably just bring mask fins snorkel and reg. rather then all my gear. If I can set up something definite I'll bring the whole kit including dry suit if needed. Would rather not but otherwise I've got a 3/2 shorty and a polartech full suit. can dive these to about 76-78 degrees ok. As for experience I've got at this time 55 logged dives with deep, drysuit, uw nav, and drift experience.Coldest I've dove is 46 degrees between the ice and snow that day Air temp 34. It was Great! Will be completing deep and uw nav specialties this weekend. I have been assisiting with ow training classes since november and am now going through divemaster course. should have it in by the time I get there. If anyone is interested send me a private message or just post to this thread. I'll be checking it regularly from now on. Thanks, Jim

Try Duggan Diving (http://www.duggandiving.com), it's says on their website that they go to Comal every Thursday. Comal is about 10-15 ft deep and clear, so if you go with their group a buddy isn't exactly necessary. The water tempurature is 72 degrees year round, and the air in late September is high 80's to low 90's. A dry suit maybe too much. I usually dive the Comal in just my swimsuit, because I overheat in my 3mm.

Good Luck.

Thanks Lea Ann, I just talked to them and got all the details on the thursday night dive. I will be doing it! Too good a deal to pass up. Just trying to decide how much gear I want to lug down besides my mask, fins, snorkel, and of course my regulator. may rent bc and other stuff or may not. Still have time to decide but can't wait to get there. Thanks again for the tip. Jim
