Hey Don,
i live in Wilmington not to far from topsail, looking for a buddy myself. The conditions in the area are very good, water is in the seventies and vis is in the 50-100 foot range. I dive with scuba now out of Wilmington cause there cheap. 90 bucks a dive including tanks air or nitrox! I also dive out of moorehead with discovery scuba. I shoot for 6-8 dives a week. I'm aow/nitrox also. If your interested shoot me a pm and well talk
