BBC News - Eleven rescued off Suffolk coast as boat sinks
Eleven people have been rescued after their dive boat began to sink off Lowestoft in Suffolk.
The Lowestoft lifeboat was returning from an exercise when the crew saw the boat in difficulties and taking on water.
Several people were already in the sea. All 11 people on board were taken back to shore and four were transferred to hospital for checks.
The dive boat has now partially sunk just outside the harbour.
A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service said four people sustained minor injuries and were transferred by ambulance to the James Paget Hospital in Great Yarmouth.
'Fortunate position' The remaining seven people were cold, but uninjured and did not require hospital treatment.
The incident was reported to Yarmouth Coastguard by Lowestoft Harbour Control at 12:12 BST.
Dave Moore, watch officer at Yarmouth Coastguard, said: "The Lowestoft RNLI all-weather lifeboat was exercising in the area and was in a fortunate position to be able to be on scene rapidly and retrieve all 11 people from the water.
"The Lowestoft lifeboat will return to the wreckage site to clear the debris from the water."
The weather conditions at the time were calm with a light south-westerly wind and sunny, he said.
