Dive Advice for January bet Cairns and Brisbane?

Here is what we are planning so far:

Arrive Sydney
· Dec 31st New Years
· Jan 1st Fly out
Cairns
· Jan 2nd – 4th 3 day liveaboard on OceanQuest to Outer Reef: http://www.ocean-quest.com.au/
· Jan 5th Rainforest
o Skyrail – pickups available right from beach
o Return to Port Douglas – supposed to be definitely worth a night’s stay
Between Cairns and Brisbane from North to South (22 hr drive time total bet. cities):
· Jan 6th Mission Beach – Stop here for lunch
· Jan 6th Arrive Townsville for night (6 hrs from Port Douglass)
· Jan 7th – 8th Dive the Yongala: http://www.yongaladive.com.au/
· Jan 8th Leave that afternoon for Whitsundays (3.5 hr drive approx.)
· Jan 9th In am return car.

· Jan 11th Boat returns, 11:30 am. Depart asap for Hervey Bay (how?) (10 hrs)
· Jan 11th Arrive Hervey Bay for night
· Jan 12th – 14th 3 day Fraiser Island camping http://www.fraserisland4wd.com.au/index.php
· Jan 14th Get dropped in Hervey Bay. Head out to Brisbane (how?) (3.5 -4 hrs drive approx.)
Brisbane
· Jan 14th Arrive
· Jan 15th Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
o Top 10 zoos of the world
o Only place you can hold a koala
o Kangaroos!
· Jan 16th Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo
· Jan 17th – 18th Part ways with my group
