I am busily trying to replace my stolen dive equipment. I love the Seaquest Diva...except for that dumb built in bra...gets in the way when I'm on the boat and want some sun...also gets the fuzzies. Anyone had any luck removing that featuyre? Scissors maybe??

I'm glad you asked that cause that was my question too!

I dive with the Diva LX and I love mine, bra and all. Although I'm not very busty to begin with, I don't even know its there and its certainly not in the way. I wonder if you couldn't take it somewhere to have it altered (removed) instead of doing home surgery on it and potentially run the risk of ruining it. I know the price tag these carry and I wouldn't want you to throw you $$ out the window!

I have not used the diva myself, but I know that a lot of women like it. However, it sounds like you don't like one of the integral components of the diva's design. Since you are in the position of having to replace your dive gear, why not look for another model of bcd that incorporates the features you like about the diva, but doesn't have the sportsbra?

If you search through scubaboard, you'll find many reviews of lots of different bcd's which may give you some ideas of other brands/models to look into. You may find something you'll like even more than you liked your diva!

I've always assumed that part of the point of the bra thing is that it keeps the shoulder straps in place, so you don't need a chest strap. I'm not sure the Diva would be as stable without it.

If you want to stick with SeaQuest, what about one of the back-inflate designs, such as the Libra? No bra in that.

The bra on the Diva LX seems to be made of a better material than the Diva...I think its QD?? I've had my LX for about a year now, and no fuzzies!

But can't help on removing it, its one of the features I like. You might want to try something with a chest strap instead.

I have 50 dives in my Diva LX and the bra is without fuzzies and has not stretched or become deteriorated in any way. I agree with many of the other post here that the bra insert is a key selling point of the Diva. Personally it is the lumbar support that has me sold on it but the bra rather than strap harness is all more comfortable.

The part of the Diva that I wish someone would find a fix for is the harder than heck to slide in weight pouches. Has anyone come up with a work around for this besides the weight belt?

Have you tried shoving the pouch in, then grabbing it from the back and jiggling it into place with both hands?

Recently I watched someone else do it this way. It was only then that I realised that the back of the 'pocket' is open (duh!). Since then I have tried it myself and I definitely find that pulling the pouch into place is easier than trying to push it home. Also, when you're holding it with both hands, you can lift it a little bit, and then it slides around more easily.

Hope that helps,
