Mrs DS is ditching her Hera BCD and buying a TransPac.

In her Hera she dives with her 2mm neoprene fullsuit and uses 12lbs.

When she switches to the TransPac, how will that effect her weight needs?

Thanks,
DS

Hi DS,

I would anticipate Mrs DS will be able to shave a few pounds off, but I'm not familiar with the Hera BCD. In general, a jacket-style BCD is more bouyant than a TransPac/wing combo. However, with any new piece of equipment you'll need to do some trial and error. I would start with 12 lbs again and then try 10, etc.

Best,
Kathleen

I calculated my dive weight with the Transpac's buoyancy as 0-lbs. Worked out really well and carried over to my freediving weight (with 7mm wetsuit) and steel plate & wing BC.

So, I think that you can be safe to say that the Transpac is neutrally buoyant and buoyancy characteristic for it is 0-lbs.
