Hi folks, I'm taking the "Discover Scuba" introductory pool dive on Saturday at the LDS with some friends. Can anybody tell me what to expect? Thanks.

What kind of questions are on the medical release form? I had asthma as a child, but have not had any symptoms in 25+ years, will this keep me out of the pool?
Welcome to the board.
We talk you through the basic equipment, how it's used and some basic skills you will need. Nothing extensive, takes maybe 30 minutes. We then take you to the shallow end of the pool, put gear on you and let you breath from it, first above water and then squating in the water. If you get spooked you can just stand up. Once your comfortable we take you on an underwater swim in the pool. All together about 1 1/2 hr. You will need to fill out a medical form. If you answer any questions yes you will need a doctor approval for the class...no biggie just a standard legal CYA thing but it will keep you out of the pool that day. Take a towel and have fun.
