Was it a dive boat?

Similar incident a few weeks ago in Pattaya when one of the Pattaya to Koh Larn ferries sank, reportedly overloaded at the time. A number of people were drowned and seriously injured.

Remarkably a few weeks later after this sinking the Pattaya authorities were claiming a 100% marine safety record for 2013!!

from google translate:
"The dive boat, The Aladdin, was filled with tourists when the accident occurred."

"capsize and sink 80 meters down to the bottom."

Boat is called the Flying Carpet, run by Aladdin. The apparently happened close to Koh Tachai island, north of the Similans. What I heard is that the propeller caught in a rope attached to a large fish trap on the seabed ... this caused the prop shaft to break and damage the hull below the waterline. Scary to watch .. went down very quickly. So lucky everyone got off. Kudos to the staff and crew, and lucky the Peter Pan was close enough to help also.
