Merry and I headed to the pipes off El Segundo today in search of tiny nudibranchs on sponges, and maybe a juvenile Great White sighting. Not much luck on either front. Visibility was five feet. Coupled with heavy surge and photographing something the size of the head of a pin was next ti impossible. We made an hour plus dive and I came away with one photo of a Metridium senile. The only highlight was finding an abandoned hoop net full of lobsters. I freed the crunchy critters and disabled the trap.

Rather that suffer any longer we drove south to Golf Ball Reef where we had eighteen feet visibility. I found five octopus dens and the knife Merry lost last month.

We may try for the southside of Palos Verdes tomorrow. I need some photo opportunities.

I always enjoy your photos. They really are spectacular.

Let us know with a dive report for the south side. The divevets group is hoping for decent VIS at OML on Sunday for our Christmas service dive.

We had 20 feet+ off Honeymoon Cove today with no surf. It's supposed to pick up a bit tommorow but is looking good for the weekend.
