Hey, with an SMB that long, and if you're diving more than 50% He, you might just get a surprise...

I seem to remember reading somewhere that OMS made some that long on the theory that if horizontal on the open sea, but partially inflated to keep it floating, they would be easier to spot by search aircraft. That, of course, assumes, the boat already gave up. Ouch.
