FredT,

I asked:-
"Where do you keep the speargun - does it dangle off a wing/BC? "
I asked a question.

I said:-

"If so, how close can your buddy get to you in an emergency ie OOA without a) Puncturing himself or you 2) Takes more time to get to you 3) Could puncture wing/BC and/or drysuit/wetsuit.

I made an assumption (If so)

I made 3 points based on that assumption which you corrected.
I was wrong in that assumption.

You then said:-
"Put the fantasy world away."

The statements made based on a poor understanding of the issue were reasonable (but wrong), the statement "Put the fantasy world away" shed no light at all on the issue.

I have no desire to participate in this thread or forum any longer - it's one thing to correct a person, it's another to stick the boot in.

Uncle Pug:
Uncle Pug didn't make the policy.

U.P. ... you posted the following ... I assume in your capacity as moderator of this forum ...

Anyone who starts a trolling thread in the DIR forum will earn a 5-day suspension from the DIR forum... or from Scuba Board altogether as the case may be.

Not to beat a dead horse, but if folks are gonna earn vacations for bashing DIR on this forum, then the same should be said for those who bash PADI.

Trolling is trolling ...

Actually, while UP may have posted such a warning, it was only at my suggestion. Whether the forum remains in it's current form is up to the denizens that post here. 99.9% of the trolling and feuding on SB occur within this forum. It was intended for DIR divers to discuss their craft. It seems that others feel that they can use it to further their own agenda in it instead. Maybe we are not mature enough to continue this forum.

If I have to adjust your post you will find a :censored: within it. While most censors will entail a "time out" for the poster, please be mindful that multiple ones will. No, you don't need to push the limit either. Also, in case I do miss one, please use the "Report this post to Moderator" link a the bottom of the post. Please be specific about what you find disturbing. I'm about as dumb as as I am ugly.
