Spectre:
Yea, Soggy flew the coop.

You need to have:
Tanks
2 regulators, one on a 5-7 foot hose
backplate/wing
depth gauge
timer
mask/fins
cutting device
wet notes
one spool with 100+ line

Hmmm, what would a backplate/wings/webbing etc, and a 5 foot hose set me back?

Figure somewhere in the $500 range for BP/wing/webbing (OMS, Oxycheq, Halcyon)... of course cheaper if you buy something used.

The 5' hose is small bank, $25-35 (Halcyon's is FTP/retail $35, which would definitely be the high end of things(.

I think I'm going to keep diving and working on my skills this summer. Then I'll get into the DIR-F class next year. I don't want to rush around trying to get everything ready only to miss out on the "having fun" part. I've been through that scenario before.
I still want to hear about it all though.
