I just googled Austin, and it is about 12 hours from Bull Shoals. I would have to say that the diving is definitely not worth the drive. I dive up in the Great Lakes a bunch. If you ever wanted to fly up there, it would be worth the trip. PM me your email address, and I'll add you to my Lakes trip email list.
